Last night we took our bikes out thinking that it wasn't supposed to rain until late in the evening. My XJ750 that we picked up a couple of weeks ago doesn't have a front fender. We just noticed this over the weekend. So when it started raining, of course I had a nice little fountain in front of me. At first it wasn't raining badly and we were doing ok. But as it started raining harder I started having some trouble with the blinkers working. Less than a mile from home it started pouring hard and I lost my blinkers completely. The bike stalled when I got into the driveway. I was completely soaked through by then. So I just parked her and went in. This afternoon, she won't start. The battery IS on the low side. It was saying it had about 12 volts when we hooked it up to the charger. But the headlight and tail lights come on when you turn it on. Blinkers still aren't working and she's not even turning over the starter relay. She doesn't even make a click when we try to start her. Anyone else have something like this happen to them?

FYI, we've ordered a front fender. Also, that will be the LAST time I make a wise ass comment like "WELL, it's a good thing I don't ride in the rain isn't it?" I was just ASKING for trouble! LOL!

Put it out in the bright sun for a few days.....your coils got wet, and you got other stuff wet, too.....let the sun bake on the headlight bucket, and lift the seat, too, so the fusebox gets baked as well.

Not uncommon, don't feel bad--many of us have been there.....more than once! DAMHIKT

At least it died in your driveway. Could have been worse: ride in the rain, combined with walk and/or hitchhike and/or get murdered in the rain!
    that's me: mr brightside!

    ^^that^^

And then plan on finding those cracks and filling them with epoxy, and replacing the plug wires (you will need splices (Bosch makes a nice set, as does NGK).
Riding in the rain is one of the best parts of motorcycling (honest).

Being murdered in the dry is probably just as bad.

I dunno... dead is bad, dead with wet shoes? I'm destined for somewhere warm and firey, so I guess they'd dry up!

That's what I told my fiance! I told him I was so glad she got me home. Then I hugged her. Yeah, I need help. LOL!

BWAHAHAHAHA!!! Fortunately for me, I was with my fiance. We woulda parked her, went home and got the trailer and brought her home. No need to worry about murder there. At least not for a couple dozen years when he's finally sick of me. LOL!
