I have my carbs disassembled and was wondering
    1. how to remove the pin that holds the floats?
    2. Where is the pilot screw located? There is probable a cap over it but where is it located?

On the Yamaha, the pin holding in the floats should slide out relatively easily. It is the float bowl cover that actually keeps that pin in place when it is on the bike. You do NOT want to force it out - gently coaxing it out is the way to go. I have used a very small, broken drill shaft to push from one side on the pin, gently moving it through and out of the pillars.

Those Float Hinge Pins on Mikuni's can be Tough.
Plus, the position of the Hinge on the two pillars makes getting a stuck one out.

If you have to "Tap-out", "Push-out", "Press-out" or "Drive-out" the Float Hinge Pin on Mikuni's ...

Get a box of Stick Matches and strike two or three at a time and HEAT the Pillars. Then "Oil 'em Hot." That should do it.

If they need to be "Persuaded" ...

Do not STRIKE the stuck Pivot Pin until BOTH Pillars are BRACED to prevent the Pillars from being subject to the Force of the Impact.
