Hi, I took both jets out of the top of each carburetor, and don't remember which jet goes in which hole. It looks like there is a 210 and a 70 for each one(they are difficult to read, so they might be other numbers). One has a pretty big hole, and the other has a much smaller hole. (I'm new to this). Does anyone know which goes in which hole? There are three holes in a line in a trench like shape- two are threaded and one is not. So is the 270 for the threaded one on the end or in the middle of the three? I can take a picture if you don't know what I mean.

Pay no attention to the jet sized in the photo; it's from a different model of XJ.
The cover was not used on later machines, so it that hole will be left empty.
Next time, take pictures before you take something apart.

Also note that the service manual has these jets mislabeled as to position.

I thought the bigger jet was the main jet and the smaller was the pilot...

    Easy way to remember
    Little jet near little screw
Bigger jet bigger distance from screw
    Same with signal wires
Yamaha green has the "right" of way
Honda are there any oranges "left"

    good, now remember that's backwards
if you shoot carb cleaner in the big air jet it comes out the small fuel jet
