I want a battery tender but I don't know which one to get. When I got my battery I had to fill each cell with acid so I think it's a lead acid type. I just have no clue what to look for when getting one like peak mah and stuff. I found a cheap one but have no clue if it's is any good for what I need. http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?nav=item.view&id=151747890116&alt=web

battery tenders give a trickle charge to your battery, but Battery Tender is also a brand name in you ebay link.
are you looking for a battery charger or a battery tender?
your link is a 1.25 amp charger. when you go to the manufacture it is just the aligator clips
    http://www.batterytender.com/s.nl
    another link
    http://www.batterytender.com/Motorcycle/

if you want a tender you want somthing with under 1.0 amp charging rate
.75 amp charging rate like fiveofakind posted would be good.

I would ask the ebay guy what exactly he is selling

I believe the ebay auction is just the lead for the battery, maybe the one with ring terminals. I have one installed on each bike so I don't need to remove the battery and just rotate what bike the tender is plugged into. The plug hangs out to the side. His ad is definitely misleading.

If you run that part number, its just the battery lead with clamps.

Len sells a 1.5amp trickle that will adjust the charge as k-moe stated and blink should something go wrong. I have one. Also make certain each cell is filled. Stick the red straw down in the cell so you can see the acid hit the bottom. You shouldn't have any or very little acid left after all the cells are full.

You do have a lead acid battery and just about any name brand battery maintainer willdo, however there are options. I prefer to ues a trickle charger that adjusts the charging amperage as the battery reaches capacity, though they tend to be more expensive. I also like having a seperate manual charger with a boost function (high amperage for starting), both for jumping a dead battery and for testing purposes, but you may not need that.
