Very ingenuitive but really overkill! Glad no animals were harmed in the process. I hope the finished product doesn't disappoint either! Here is to hoping and your skill Anthony!

Nobody from Administration is "Signing-Off" on this Job until you provide some pretty detailed photographs of what this looks like all welded-up.

I'm not saying the welds need to sustain the force of a Nukie-Boomer just shy of crush depth.

But, this job better look pretty dang good and squared-away or we're hanging a "RED Tag" on it and sending you back to "GO ... without collecting the two hundred"

Make us love this job, please!

Don't worry, (well I guess in a way you should lol) everything is being done properly, the welder I had coming over was a dud. My goodness, I saw a example of his weld work and it was sh*t, I don't know how he was in business, so I am hopefully going to some shops today to see what they can do.

Remember, I am not riding anything that I don't feel safe on or looks poorly done.

I will post many pics of it finished, but this week will be pretty much just searching for someone to do it at a garage.

You might be surprised to know that some of the better Welder's are NOT at shops ... but, independents with everything they need right on the back of a truck.

I'd call a nearby (maybe not so nearby) bike builder and have them recommend a good Welder to you.

    That looks pretty darn good.
That guy had a great touch.

I think I'd high-speed wire brush the whole area and go right to Primer.
    I wouldn't touch those nice-looking puddles with a grinder.
    I'd just prep and paint.

damn...that's a lot of welds. I assume those are reinforcement plates he welded over the cut? How much did he charge to do all that welding?

You are really going to have to keep an eye on all those welds for the rest of the life of the bike just to make sure they aren't cracking or weakening.

Yep, I am going wire brush it tomorrow. I just grinded around the downtubes to make it blend in some more (the guys said that would be ok because he got great penetration).

Yes PghXJ, those are reinforcement plates he put, he used steel that is stronger than the frame lol.

And the best part, only took a hour, and $60, he wanted $40, but I gave him $60! lol!

And to think I got quoted at $550!

$60...great price! Especially if it was good work.

From the look of those welds ...

The surrounding steel would fail first.
You could probably X-Ray those fills and not see a bubble!!!

The nice thing about good work is how good it looks.

    Ya lol.

The guy that did it said he was self taught, and that he does work for some mining companies and the space engineering dept. for the University of Toronto; something to do with satellites :O.

His welder was huge! He said it was capable of doing ship hulls lol, the lowest setting was burning through on some parts lol.

Excellent work on those re-enforcement plates, that dude hooked you up right! Heck, I'd a run out and bought him at least a suitcase of the beer of his choice for the work he did, on top of the $60!

Could the problem be caused because the top and bottom of the triple crown are not properly aligned. I would try loosening the steering head and tube bolts, locking the front week between you knees and twisting the bars to align things up again. If that did not work have the forks checked out by a shop. I live in Georgetown, north of Mississauga and west of Brampton. There is a shop on Winston Churchill just north of Steels called TSR who I have dealt with a number times and have been quite helpful. If the forks are bent you may be able to find used ones at TO Cycle Salvage down in the Lakeshore & Browns Line area.

Hi brucem, no, it was not a simple fix like that lol, the whole dam system was out of wack, but it is all better now. The triple tree what the only thing that seemed unaffected by the 'accident'.

Glad you liked the seat guys, when shes all mounted, I'll post some pics.

After all you been through on that job ... I just hope is tracks down-the-road in straight line and gets through some corners without a shimmy.

But, you did run over it with a "Straight-Job"!!! So, I guess she'll be straight.

    We all hope so.

(Nice welding job. That guy deserves an award. You'd have paid upwards of 3-Hundred -- maybe 4-Hundred dollars for that kind of a job -- "Back East"!

Front end still seems a bit off, but much better than it was. Hopefully all is well. How does it ride? I like the paint job.

Thanks, the fames were a decal, the rest was me.

It seems to ride good, but I won't know till I can really book it!

The wheel was turned in the pic, but yes, I think it is off maybe a bit, but 1000% better than what is was...

Oh guys, I forgot to ask, what can I do to make the transition from the gas tank to my seat? It looks like it does not belong...
