    Hey guys -

New here, was on the XJOwners forum for a few weeks, kind of glad to see the merger, the more people, the better the forums (usually)!! :D

Here's my project bike, hoping to have it on the road this spring. Yes, I know it's a long shot, but hopefully with some help from you guys, I can get it done!

It's an '81 Midnight Maxim 650. Was running about 3-4 years ago, sat under a shed for the past few years. This is my first foray into the 2-wheeled world, but I've been working on cars for a while, and run an automotive machine shop. Looking forward to working on the bike and meeting some fellow XJ riders!!

Yeah I know, but for the price I got it for, I'm not losing much if it turns out to be more of a junkpile than I think. At least I can get my feet wet working on bikes, and it should be fun to start taking stuff apart anyway. I've already fallen in love with the 80's Japanese bikes (want a GS1100e sooooo bad!), and I'd love to fix this one up really nice, even if it takes me a while...
