Okay, frivolous question time. My dad and I got into a discussion about guys doing dumb stuff on sport bikes. It started when I told him that an investigation into the death of a local guy on a sport bike found that the accident was the result of him doing a wheelie down the highway and losing control.

We got to wondering whether my XJ700 could do a wheelie. I said no, my dad thought it could.

So, what do you guys think? I'm not about to try it, so I'll accept the verdict of general consensus.

I don't know about a 700, but when I had my 750 midnight maxim I rode a few wheelies and it came down HARD 8O That bike was one heavy beast, but it surely had enough power to pull one with some clutch poppin'
The forks on most of the xj bikes are little puny things compared to most modern bikes nowadays, I'd be afraid of something breaking.....I've heard of it happening before! When I get my Ducati someday, then wheelies won't be a problem at all 8)

Yes if you try to do a wheelie , better be ready to do some fork work as in seals and such..

This is not a good Idea( wheelie)...

Take care of your baby and she ll be there when you need her most.

I've pulled the wheel up a foot or so on my 550 Seca but thats all my heart and guts have ever wanted. My buddy had a 750 Seca and he could make that puppy sit up and beg any time he wanted!

I have recently (like this week) got the front wheel up on a 650 maxim (with some drag bars). Its not easy, and it wont ride a wheelie, but its still fun! I dont do it often but its still fun!
