    Guys,

Just got a Maxim 700 a few weeks ago, and want to get a manual to be able to do some of the work myself. I came across this one through these lovely forums:

    https://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/243740142-1985-1986-yamaha-maxim-xj700-service-manual-repair

    and this one on eBay:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/252033341914?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Any other recomendations? Have any of you guys used either of these? I trust eBay, but have never heard of Tradebit and often times when things seem too good to be true (both manuals for only 9.99) i get a little bit wary...

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I have the one from ebay and it's good. Over 250 pages--more than most folks will ever want. I also find it easy to read and understand.

Thanks for the reply tabaka. I actually ended up pulling the trigger on the Tradebit manuals and couldn't have been happier! Everything is totally legit and having the owners manual, which I was desperately missing, is great. I think either the Tradebit or the Ebay set is a steal at less than $20. The nice thing about the Tradebit manuals is that you get it instantly.

i got my manual from tradebit it is a pdf download. and it is a copy of the yamaha fsm with all the supplements.

if you go hard copy it is my understanding Haines is the better manual photo wise

i purchased my tradebit manual before even buying my bike, with the manual I made the decision to make my purchase of the bike.

I have pdf of the haynes, and it is good. lots of info, helpful tips, but the scans were a little on the low side, so the pictures are often unreliable. I paid 0 for it, so I got what I deserved.
    Hey, just like my XJ!
Lots of gurus advise having two manuals to compliment each other, the Yamaha FSM (indispensible) and your choice of either haynes or clymer. Add to the mix the info found on this site, and you should know everything about everything! If not, ask Chacal. I think he is a manual!

Haynes has photos of things that aren't shown in the FSM. The FSM has photos of things that aren't shown in the Hanyes. The actual photo quality is better in the FSM, but you really need both manuals.
