Yes; from '85 - '88. It was replaced in the U.S. by the FZR600 in '89, but sold elsewhere until '91.
The Maxim-X is the sister of the FZ750.

I noticed the cylinders were leaned forward towards the forks and was wondering the reason?

More compact packaging, better airflow through the cylinders, and more weight on the front tire. Modern sports bikes have taken that further by also rotating the transmission forward, and stacking the gears above one-another. The design also allows for a larger and more efficient air box, which boosts power production by taking advantage of the intake pulsing to help draw in a bit more fuel and air. There was also a mass-centralization movement going on at the time. getting the CG lower was part of the purpose of tilting the cylinders forward. The goal was to increase the turn-in rate and help the bike to have the same handling characteristics regardless of how much fuel was in the tank.

but you make up for it with a surplus of goats!
I always liked in BigFitz's posts how his "Shop Assistant" looks like a twelve year old kid. Can't wait 'til my "Assistant" is old enough to help out!
