    Starter solenoid
If you apply 12 volts to the two small wires it should click and the starter should turn the engine over. So hook it back up, ground to blue and positive to red and see what happens. If it turns over you will have to check the side stand relay and the wiring back up to the start button. You should post which bike you are working on and maybe someone will post a wire diagram here for you.

what model bike do you have
you connect positive from battery to one nut and the cable from starter to the other nut.

the connector from the harness has the voltage on one pin and the wire runs back to the starter button on the other pin . when you press the start button you make a connection to ground
test for voltage at the harness connector and check for continuity to ground when you press starter button
the blue wire should be button red wire voltage

Regardless of condition, I am officially jealous. Does it have that cool digital speed monitor above the ATARI?

I don't actually know. I was just being me (a jerk). Built in radar seems improbable, but who knows? Somebody, I hope...
