Hi again.... taking my gas tank off for new paint... I realized that the plug that it's supposed to be connected somewhere so the "low fuel" light come on is unplugged (wonder why wasn't working!!) so looking around the bike, in the sides and inside I did no see an empty plug where to plug this one coming from the tank...Anyone knows where to plug this end form the tank...

Yes is a two pin plug, but there is nothing there where I can plug this on... I think the "male" plug is missing...

Mine is under the seat. If the male plug is missing, you may fin two taped "uselss" leads somewhere.

Rod1, iirc you have an xj700? If so, the connector is just a little bit behind the back left of the gas tank. The lead comes off off the underside of the tank, goes under the frame, and connects to the harness at the left, pretty much on top of the airbox. If you need a pic, I'll take one. If its a different bike, let us know which one....

Hogfiddles mine is a xj 700 1985, send me a pic if is not too much to ask... I checked all around and I didn't find nothing, not even cables be themselves sitting anywhere... The cables coming off from the underside of the tank are long enough to reach under the seat or to the left side plastic cover (if you are sitting on the bike) around that area a didn't see nothing to plug them or like I said any loose leads...

Rod1, here is a pic of the plug connection on my bike. It seems to go directly into the harness. Hope this helps

Looking at your picture, I remember a post where Bigfitz told us he had his sidestand sticking out like yours without knowing it, he then pushed the bike off of the center stand and the side stand ripped his big toe nail in a flash, because he was wearing some open shoes like yours on the picture. Just saying...

Ha! Point taken, I was trying to keep my feet out of the picture! Too big I guess!

That is my number one garage rule. NO open toe shoes in the garage. Number two rule, the wife can not clean the garage.

image.jpg Green/black wire harness should come out at the tail of the tank, and clip into the green/black pigtail clip right along side the airbox snorkel. The tank lead should not wrap around to the outside of the frame, which lead to possible pinched wires. It all stays compact and in the frame.
