MAC ,exhaust system maker, has the same part number for the XJ700 and the XJ700X. Will a 4 into 1 for one fit the other? I have found several of the XJ700 and none of the XJ700X.

Thank you for the prompt reply. That simplifies the for search for a 4 into 1. Only the MAC add indicated they were the same. No one else on the Net knows the facts. It sure seemed reasonable to me that they would interchange. This means I can buy the first one I saw.

You may find that using an aftermarket exhaust on the 700-X motor will result in an engine that is incredibly difficult to tune properly.........the 5-valve engines are a pretty precisely tuned unit from the factory, and just about anything hat you do to them "aftermarket" as far as intake or exhaust makes them perform worse (not better) than stock.

Thank you for the information. I really was wanting to do it for looks not more power. I do not want to try to tune my engine. Getting the bike back on the road is challenge enough.

Probably want to stick with the stock exhaust.

Aftermarket won't look as good. You want head-turning looks---spend the $ and get GOOD OEM stuff from Len, or if he doesn't have it, surf eBay.
