750 seca throttle question

I have an 82 750 seca that I am fixing up for a friend to ride.

It came to me in rough shape, missing several parts. I am trying to figure out a throttle system that will work with this bike. I foolishly bought an emgo throttle (44-24931) hoping it would work, but the cable doesn't come far enough out of the housing to work with this throttle. I would like be able to use stock throttle cables without modifying them.

Anyone have ideas for a replacement part that would work?

I'll find a link tonight and post it. The problem is not with the length of the overall cable, it is that there is too much housing for the length of the cable. I thought of an idea though, if I shorten the housing at the carb end I can probably make it work as is. I saw the link, but I have an 82 and that was from an 81. Are they the same?

81 to 83 same throttle assembly same cable.
