New to group and need help... 82 xj750 Maxim with pods issue starting

    Yep. All the rules of carb tuning will apply including adjusting for pod air filters. Make sure your enrichment ports are all clear, the floats are set properly, the jets are clean, etc. There are basics of fuel flow pertaining to the fuel petcock but even then the carbs must be tuned properly.

    I see the front end has been lowered by pushing the forks up the tree. You might still have an issue in the corners without having a front fender or fork-brace.

    what are your starting issues can not tell from the pictures. need discription of problem.

    did you clean the carbs?
    there is an enrichment circuit (choke) and the pilot jets which deal with starting the bike.
    the pods will not keep you from starting the bike just fine tuning.
    side note is your battery fully charged this will prevent starting

    we have another member who calls his bike Black Betty

    that front brake line looks real bad and needs to be replaced real soon
