That bike was run through salt water. I'll bet it was salvaged after superstorm sandy.

Can you please contact me… I would like to get it registered on to the 900 RK seca database.

If it ran a few days ago, the keys shouldn't be too far away… Otherwise how did you get it to run with no keys and no battery?

    Thanks, Dave Fox

Again I will ask... Can you please contact me? I would like to get your 900rk logged into the XJ900rk Seca Database for USA-delivered units. There is no cost whatsoever.

Fwiw, your answers are not really being much help to anyone that might possibly be interested in your bike.

If you're really intending to sell it here, we need info. We are an XJ saavy group and we know these bikes inside out. We will be able to tell you more about your bike just by looking at a few pics than you probably even know about it. We can help you. But, if you are thinking you'll sign on quick, make a quick sale to some unsuspecting sap, you will be sadly mistaken..... And have the wrath of the XJ - fire breathing dragons directed your way..... Lol.

Fortunately, having lived in NJ, I think I know that bridge....... There's a big Goat farm next to it.

If this is "Chris," or "his neighbor," this is Greg. I assume it is your neighbor helping, as Chris mentioned he wasn't aware of about this site. I have been talking to Chris about the bike for the past five days or so. Confused.

I just got a text from Chris. Apparently, he said his friend has the same bike and they used the friend's key to add gas and new oil. I guess they used the friend's key in the ignition. He said the bike started right up. Chris did add he doesn't have the original key though. I may be much more confused now. A shame, as this may be a real 2k mile Seca.
I'm leaving this thread. Good luck.

Standing here gassing up the car this morning, and I had a thought… If you used a friends key to start the bike… How about making a copy of THAT key----

OK… Two bits of information for this bike from the database-

    1. It is now the first bike to be registered on the database for the state of New Jersey

    2. The next closest serial number registered on the database is only two units earlier..... #xxxx84.

I did not do a complete scan of mileage readings, but I believe this is also the lowest mileage of that are registered.

Yes, NJ needs a title. I'm not sure which is worse----oops, I mean I'm not sure which is more stringent.... NY or NJ! Lol.

And NY is extremely strict on title matters.....

I'd be interested in some parts off of it.....the two gray scoops under the tank, maybe some other stuff.

I'll try calling sometime tomorrow.... Several music performances, so not sure when I will be able to... Have to fit it in between gigs.

Well.... I thought it would be worth the try in the off-chance this guy was really above-board---

Talked on the phone a couple times, then bunch of texts-- it went from "I can meet you part way" to "you have to drive all the way", and when I said I could come Friday and get there about noon ( have to take the car and break the bike down a bit to fit it all in, rather than take my truck.... 7mpg on a 3500 dually 454 big-block for about 6 hr drive each way), that was the last I heard any thing from him.... No communication since TUESDAY.

I have screenshots of the texts, too, if anyone is interested in seeing.

Funny, he said on the phone he had to move it quick, as he was moving in ten days, but could put it in a storage locker for a few days to give me time to make plans, and meet me part way. Wow, I got it arranged for Friday... Would not need a storage locker, either.

So, guess he's not selling the bike to me.... Since I don't have directions, no confirmation of time, etc.... I'm not loading the tools into the car, I'm gonna sleep in tomorrow, use the wad of cash that I had set aside to take for other stuff then. My gain, his loss. I'll find the parts somewhere else some other time.

No sweat off my back..... I didn't send anything western union, I figured he like a little larger wad of cash, but hey, that's ok.... I thought I'd give him a chance to prove himself--- he did exactly that.

Yup, and at the SAME time. Fully prepared for the fact that he probably was a troll and would not follow through... There were actually several of us here who were talking with him ( and we were in touch with each other the whole time, deciding who would ask him what, comparing answers, etc.....) and he may THINK he was trolling us, but we had tag-teamed him so early on that we knew it would end up this way. But in the highly unlikely event that he actually DID follow through-- I'd get the bike, others would get their parts, and he would have gotten a pretty good chunk of change, cuz I was ready to roll with more than the bike was worth.

In the end, he ripped himself off..... That's the funniest part about it!!! Lol
