while yall are on the subject of random bikes, have yall ever heard of a Yamaha Radian 600? it look similar to an XJ seca and i was wondering if they were as good ok a bike as an XJ?

 

Radian is basically an XJ/FJ 600 in a different frame. It's the same engine, so they are exactly as good as an XJ.

Fortunately I am so broke that I can't even pay attention so I won't buy it . . . but dang the price is good.

 

Ok right on, so are they valued around the same as an XJ? or are they more rare and therefore valued higher (harder to come by parts and all that stuff)? i found a very clean one from 86 with 20,000 miles and he wants $1300.

 

Value is tricky. As far as parts, any that you are likely to need, such as bearings, seals, gaskets, they all interchange with XJ. Stuff that doesn't interchange would be tank and frame and bodywork. How often do you replace those?

The carbs pic doesn't bother me.... I have enough carbs that I could easily put the missing parts back in... Or put a different rack on....

 

There's one about 10 miles down the road from us… Fair condition, regular ride for the fellow…

Around here they are appreciated by recipients of the (apparently) much sought-after DUI award.

 

Radians are nice bikes, they look a bit like the 1984-1985 Honda Nighthawks 650.

If anyone is interested. The front bike is up and running with registration. The second is good but needs the registration, then the third is a parts bike. My GF wont let me get them

 

He's been trying to dump the turbo for month's last price was 1900.00 obo depends on which add and week he re-post it.

 

Maybe the bikes will let you get a new girlfriend.

 

Actually those were quite rare, made up to look like a Midnight Maxim in 2/3 scale. Not all dealers got one.

If it's all there and in good shape, I think that is an absolute steal for that price.

That is exactly what the one for sale looks like. iI dont need another bike, because i already have my hands full with my bike. I was just curious since the bike looked clean and i had never heard of a Radian. I wondered if they were sought after or not because he was selling it for a reasonable price.

Very original and untouched (in 20 years) but that's the challenge if it ran maybe 750 max
is that metal flake red paint original?
i understand Seca came in white or red for 82. mine looks original paint but not metal flake red as well as the others i have seen here

 

I'm not an expert on the 550s, but that exhaust does not look original... the cans look wrong.
Someone tell me if I'm wrong, please!

That's an aftermarket muffler, but the stock one is also a slash-cut. It's just not cut at that angle.

Notice how it follows the line of the grab bar.

 

I like the way all the angles line up.forks to muffler cut, to grab bar, rear of frame, mid section of seat
