Before I get started I've already seen the horror stories. Here's the deal, the frame is in the process of getting chopped and I bought the bike with no airbox. With the frame chopped, there wouldn't be room for it anyway.

I have almost zero interest in going fast. It's a cruiser bike that will RARELY see anything higher than 60mph. This bike will be used to go on rides with friends and "bar hop" so to speak. I like the look of the pods and will keep them.

Now with that out of the way, the PO has the pods taped off almost completely to build some more pressure on the pods, the bike is running alright but has some low end hesitation. I'd like to fix that and if at all possible remove the tape. I've read getting the stock boots will help so I'll be ordering them soon.

I live in Miami so I'm at sea level. From what I can tell the PO has chopped the exhaust at the muffler. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Find a set of the airbox to carb boots. Use them to mount the pods to the carbs.
You should also find out (either by asking or by mechanic-ing) if the carbs were rejetted or not.

You'll need to rejet for pods then. You're always going to be lean otherwise, and that can end up putting holes in a piston or two.

Info on that can be found via the second link in my signature.

Maybe it's something in my settings here on the forum but your signature doesn't show up.

I'm glad I don't live in this part of Miami, your bike should be very loud...

Not at all loud. To be honest I'd like it to be louder.

That' what I did the first time , but I deleted a part of it after I hit the reply icon, so it didn't show as it should.

Loud or not loud is very subjective, indeed.

My dad worked in a parts manufacturing plant for 30 years, and was a radioman in the U.S. Army before that. He always said that after a while nothing is loud, because you can't hear anymore.

He was correct. Loss of hearing is permanent. Wear ear plugs.

Only if you don't ride further than the nearest bar.

Try a half day roadtrip on one, the noise will start getting to you .

I have a quiet bike and a loud bike (my evaluation of loud). I ride them two different ways when I'm in town, because I don't want my neighbourhood to hate me and other bikers by extension.
