83 xj 750 vibration issue need help

    At low rpms in first and second there's a vibration matching with the motor as I accelerate but it's separate from the normal rumble
    There's no change in performance she still rips and shifts great this vibration is only sometimes
    Like two pieces of metal vibrating on each other
    It's driving me crazy and any help would be greatly appreciated
    I accidentally found a neutral between 4th and 5th it clanked into 5th
    The next day I feel this vibration
    I'm just confused because a tranny problem would be a constant issue right?
    Not something that comes and goes randomly
    Could it be my clutch?
