Damn I am sad today, David Bowie passed away. Music and motorcycles are two things at the top of my list (women used to be on the list, but after four marriages, not so much) that make life even remotely interesting. A girl I knew in Milwaukee turned me onto him, showed me the album Aladdin Sane and I was like, WTF is that, but then I listened to it and it was love at first hearing. I was lucky enough to see every tour he did, from 1980 through to the Reality Tour in 2003... even saw Glass Spider twice. Thanks for all of the memories David, I would not trade them for anything.

Yeah, I just read his last album, Blackstar () according to his longtime producer Tony Visconti, he created as a parting gift. Incredible.

I had a hard time believing the news, as it was so similar to Lemmy von Motorhead, and so soon after!
Both had just recorded a new album, both just celebrated a birthday, both from cancer, both gigantic heroes of mine!

When I hear about someone like David Bowie passing away who was so familiar throughout life, especially from my youth, hits me hard. Feels like a small part of me has died with him. Still remember playing Diamond Dogs over and over again in the summer of '73 at age 13. Thinking, wow! lots of great music followed. Will always have the memories, those will never die. Rest In Peace David Bowie!

A class act all the way until the end... I am amazed that being David Bowie, living in Manhattan, yet he still managed to keep it secret until the end. Of course the way he did it will drive conspiracy nuts crazy...I would expect to hear a lot of future reports of people seeing him with Elvis in places like Safeway, etc. :)
