Hey everybody I'm snowed in up here and I'm staring at my bike looking at all the things I wanna fix and the plug wires are one. Are the wires connected directly to the coil or are they the unscrew type. Also any body know what wire size to get ect.

there is a thread in the diy forum on how to change them you have 2 options dig them out of the coil or cut them back and use a crimp to connect new wire.

I've also had success with cutting the old wire leaving about an inch of the old wire left from the coil, the get a small copper nail, grind it down to about 3/4 inch sharpening both ends. Then stick one end into the old wire and the other end into the new. Put heat shrink tubbing over the connection and it works great, nice and solid too.

I've done the splicing method, supplementing it with wrapping the old wires with self-amalgamating tape. BTW; I don't use a crimp (anymore), I use a plug wire splice like this
