    i tried installing my callipers onto rotors and noticed the frame with the rubber booton either side wasnt lighning up so i used a c clamp to push back in. i got the caliper on after that but it moves when pressing brakes and wont clamp all the way down. hence lever goes all the way in i took it offf and it clamps all the way down that way but not installed onto the rotor. any ideas ?

    Sounds like air in the brake line for the squeezing lever issue. Pictures may be helpful for the alignment problem.

    You might have a Mutt.
    Measure the inner fork tube diameter. I'm curious which forks you have.

    It is a mutt, but it's a Deliberate Mutt(tm):

    XJ750 Police (24L, 33V, and 39Y models) used the XJ650 Turbo master cylinder with XJ750 Seca calipers and rotors, and XJ650 Turbo style forks without anti-dive.

    XJ750 Police (37H models) used the XJ650 Turbo master cylinder with XJ650 Turbo/XJ750 Maxim/Midnight Maxim calipers, XJ650 Turbo rotors, and XJ900 style forks with anti-dive.
