    Hey all -

I installed a K & L Petcock Repair Kit on the above's gas tank. I cleaned the petcock inside and out while installing all the new diaphrams and o-rings - BUT, the petcock still lets gas out while set on the "ON" position. I want to replace the petcock with an after-market one that has just "ON", "OFF" and "RES" - that will (hopefully) fit the tank neatly.

Anyone order a petcock lately and have a good resource for where I can pick one of these up???

I have a petcock replacement from z1 enterprises with the adaptor plate. I never used it (it was the fuel level sender leaking, not the petcock) and I'll give it to you for the cost of shipping. You'll have to do a little grinding as per this thread:

My Petcock Solution ($27.08 All new parts)

But everyone who's done it says they work great. PM me if you're interested.

I checked the parts list and it looks as though your bike would use the exact same petcock my 86 Maxim X does. I couldn't get the right size adapter plate from Z1 or other sources. It was a few MM's off, I've heard of folks making it work, but I ordered the genuine Yamaha replacement from: Bob Traceys World of Cycles

They seem to have decent prices, much cheaper then the local dealership but there not the quickest shipping place around. Normally takes at least 7 to 10 days for my parts to arrive.
