Has anyone here ever used a "Kenda" brand tire? I'm thinking about getting one.

Which one? I think there are two that fit. I tried the sportier looking one. It was an ok tire, and good for the price. I didn't really have problems with it, it's just that I prefer some other tires more - namely the GT501. Other tires are the BT45, the metzler... some more but their names escape me - the old spitfire was popular at one time.

What's your budget and what do you want to do?

I've got Kendas on my bike; no complaints here. Although, keep in mind, I have a lot less riding experience than most here, and these are the only tires I've ever had!

    Woot,

I'm on a pretty tight budget, but am willing to spend a few extra bucks for a good tire. I ride pretty aggressively, and alot in the rain. I'm not as interested in long mileage as I am in good grip, including in wet conditions.
Right now I'm running a Metzeler ME880 Marathon (I think that's right) in the front, and the rear looks like a racing slick: no tread left at all. I'm having trouble finding any rear tires in the right size (120/90/18).

The shop is selling the kenda for $80.

If you really do like riding aggressively and put rain mileage on then I'd really suggest spending a little bit more on a tire than the Kenda. The kenda is a good tire, it's not going to throw you off - it's just that there are better tires out there...

I use http://tiresunlimited.com/ALL%20TIRES/m ... _tires.htm for pictures and general prices and sizes.

    According to them there is:

    Kenda K657 120/90H18 for $42
    Bridgestone BT45 120-90-18 around $94
    Metzler Lasertech (new ME55) 120/90V18 for $118

hrm - not finding anything am I... :-/ that's such an awkward tire size. There was a discussion on tire sizes on the old forum - try looking through the archives (on the top left of your screen)..

    Woot.

Tires are one thing i don't skimp on. I have GT501s and are very happy with them. The tires that came with my bike were IRC RS310 Durotours, they were nice ties and wore well.

Thanks for theinput, guys. I think I'm gonna try to get some GT501's instead of the Kendas. Soon I'll post a picture of the old rear tire. You'll be appalled.

I've got a Spitfire on the front, and an Avon Roadrunner on the rear.
Spitfire's got about 8000 kms on it - still looks new, never had a problem with it.
Roadrunner has about 18,000 kms on it - looks almost new - say 75%. I LOVE THIS TIRE!! Sticks like you wouldn't believe, moves water out of the way like a pump, and as you can see - really lasts.

I'm not sure I will be... I have twice now ran tires out - they suddenly go from need changing to will blow up in not many miles. I have so far managed to get them to the store but it is a very bad practice!

I'm having a hard time finding the size you wanted in a store. I did find it on their website:
