intake manifold

    im in serch of some decent used intake that bolt to the head mine are dry roted and cracking as ell as starting to rip in places causing intake leakes and shitty ideling / acceleration and i know the xjforever guys going to read this and yes put me down for 4 gaskets :p

    1. you can fix them by cleaning them with carb cleaner then coating them with rtv gasket sealer and or cover them with heat shrink. there is also the inner tube method which involves rtv and inner tubes.
    there is a thread for the heat shrink I would use the glue lined shrink and a thread for the inner tube repair

    Seems like a quick fix but not a perminet solution to my but still something i can do till i get better intake boots

    If done correctly it is a permanant fix. I ran with repaired intake boots for three years and several members have had them that way for much longer. It wasn't that long ago that new intake boots were not available from any source.
