Hey everyone just a quick question on what the cruise RPMs should be or around what they should be. Right now 4th gear is about 40-50 mph at 4,500 rpm and 5th gear is 55-60 mph at 4,500-5,000 rpm. Is this normal, high, low? I remember when I put the new clutch in about 4000 miles ago and 55mph in 5th gear was about 4,000-4,500 rpm.

if your rpms are higher at 55 now then when you first put the new clutch in that could be slippage.
is your clutch cable properly adjusted?
    drive shaft properly oiled?

    have you changed your tires?
tier wear changes the accuracy of the speedometer

Yes I believe it is properly adjusted. When you say drive shaft oiled, do you mean the final drive at the rear wheel? I changed that about 1,000 miles ago. Yes I changed my front tire about 1,500 miles ago and the rear about 1,000 miles ago. I put the same exact tires that were on it, Metzler lazertecs, previous tires had about 18,000 and 21,000 commuter miles so I kept the same ones.

I've had trouble with the electronic tach jumping around, but it stays consistent when you are cruising. I haven't found a solution to this yet, I've tried everything members have suggested to me but to no avail.

then it's an internal problem on the tach. Either a cold solder joint, or a failing component.
