Central New York Carb Clinc #9 - now 2 months away

Hi all,

Yup, about 2 months to go--

I sent out a lot of info to those that requested it.....anyone else who is planning to come and still needs. The info, let me know so I can forward it all to you.

Please start confirming who is coming, so send that info in a private conversation.

I need to start a few lists:

1.WHAT DO YOU NEED TO HAVE DONE
2.WHAT IS YOUR EXPERTISE ( brakes, carbs, forks, electrical.....)
3. WHAT IS SOMETHING THAT HOU WANT TO LEARN?

These things help me plan for a most productive and efficient day.

Also, XJ4Ever will be supplying parts, equipment, and also some nice door prizes again this year (thanks, LEN!!). So if you need some parts ordered, Lets get them sent here so they are ready and waiting for you.

OK, Dave, here is what I am hoping for, assuming I can reschedule my military duty (I'll put a request in soon). I already know my brake lines should be replaced. This is scheduled for the Spring of 2017, with steel braided lines from Len. I would like to get more familiar with the XJ750 in general. I'd love to resych my carbs again. I think it is close, but I thing it could be better. I'm still a new rider, since I just started riding last year, even though I'm almost 50. I have a lot to learn, and probably don't know just what questions to even ask. One thing I did find is that anything labeled for motorcycles is far more pricey than I like, but then I am cheap.

how far is the drive from NYC? My wife is having a baby on June 28th give or take a week. If the drive isn't too far i might swing by.

 

Take the thruway to Utica,, Then about 20 miles south, 65 mph all the way on the Thruway, Mostly 55 mph the rest of the way… Except through Utica

 

What is the carb clinic? I'm totally interested in learning as much as I can about my bike but sadly don't have a mentor nearby. My dad rode Harley's and he lives in FL. No help.

 

Carb clinic - it is an event where folks who know what they are doing take time out of their busy schedules to help folks like myself, who are mechanically challenged, different aspects in maintaining their bikes. I am personally amazed that folks are so willing to give their time to help folks like me get better at bike mechanics.

 

Carb clinics are the type of events that made me wish I lived closer to Dave. From North Carolina is not quite an option for "the weekend". I will have to make a a whole vacation.
