Finally had it out for a short ride this evening. Felt great. Thanks to everyone who helped get this done.
Sure still some very minor details to sort, but rideable and everything works / SAFE!

-One issue I did notice. Perhaps some overheating? Was very hot here and was only going tops 30mph riding around side streets / neighborhood. At one stop noticed a lot of steam coming from motor? Didn't seem like smoke. Stopped, shut it down for a good 20-30 min, engine very hot. started, rode home and shut it down no issue. Thoughts on that?

Aircooled engines don't throw steam from overheating. Instead they slowly loose power, and then seize.
The smoke/ steam that you saw was probably years of accumulated dust and oil burning off from the wee crevices that never seem to get clean.

    Stop worrying. Go ride.

Is the engine dirty? Doesn't look like It. You might have a oil leak somewhere.... If the bike runs good (which it looks nice) and the oil is good. No gas in it. Then ride it and have fun!!!

Sounds great. Yea I can't find anything except not being run like that in years .
    Thanks for the reassurance.

Looks very nice! Have you painted anything on the engine? Might be where the smoke is from. Took mine out the ohter day with newly painted head and cylinder, there was smoke everywhere.
