    Yesterday I purchased a very unloved '83 XJ750 Maxim.

I intend to go over it from stem to stern over the winter but do not intend to put it on the road. It is very expensive to plate large capacity bikes in Quebec & is about to almost double soon ($320 p/a at the moment)

I am 68 in a few days but still ride a lot. I'm off on a trip to the Saguenay region of Quebec next week with my brother who is coming over from the UK & renting a V-Star 1100.

In the past few years I have owned:
    2000 V-Max
    1982 Goldwing
    1984 Honda V65 Sabre x2
    2004 V-Strom DL1000
    2006 Suzuki Burgman 650 Exec
    2006 Suzuki Boulevard M50
    & my latest is a 2006 Suzuki Burgman 400

So, that's me in a nutshell

Welcome to you Oldgoat, looks like you have had some very serious machines in your past. I was not aware that bike registration was so very expensive up north. I hope you do plan to hit the road next season.

That price is in Quebec were their plate and insurance are linked (gov insur.) here in Ontario it is one price for all motorcycles $42.00 a year. But we got sky high insur. Hard to win. And welcome to you oldgoat from olebiker. Canada is still a great place to live.

Welcome, Oldgoat. You don't sound so old to me.....maybe 20 years ago, but not now! Are you planning on riding next season?

I'm riding my Burgman 400 this season & hope to again next season.

I have no plans to ride the XJ750, just enjoy myself getting it in safe working order.
