When I asked I was told that the two systems were incompatible SnoSheriff did a good job pulling across our old posts ( see http://xjbikes.com/Content/pid=1.html )...

So - all xjowners - try and keep your old names so we can tell who you are... if you do change your name play nice and put your old name on some of your new posts so us slow people can follow along!

What I miss is my rank - but I'll keep posting until I get the high score ;)

Nope - not the host or even a mod - I just like to talk bike... :)

I co-admin another board and the way it works is that everyone answers what they can. As the new riders learn more they start to answer some of the easier questions from the newer riders... it spreads the value of the group about - and we get to keep our more experienced riders about. Often when a board gets too newbie orientated the experienced members start dropping out - and they're really the most valuable members - the ones that can answer your questions and mine... give us a little pat on the head and tell us to go back to the basics. :) It's a good way to build a community.

One of the cool things we did last year was the GRR ( Golden Rules Rally). It was a year long meet up. Every rider you meet you take a picture together with - they give you a point. As the bulk of the riders are in the States you got 1 point for a meet in the states, 2 points for Canada and 4 points anywhere else in the world. I went to New York and scooped up ~17 points in one weekend meeting up with fellow members down there. The winner had met many times more than that. We even got points for meeting/taking a picture our Iron Butt Rally rider - Duke as he put 11,000 miles on in 11 days!

The GRR winner gets to pick the place of the awards banquet and many of our members will be riding there to have a get together.

[ To get to the NY meet I rode 3,000 km + in 4 days (with 2 days doing scenic touring in NY) - other riders did more than that... ]

How to post a picture - as far as I can tell you can put them in your photogallery - or - refer to the picture from a website. ( Right click on the picture, look at properties, copy the html link to the picture, paste it here. )

    Cheers,
    woot.

You do have a signature now - :)

Next thing to do is create an Avatar - they need to be 90*90 and ~<6K.

Photoshop is the easier way to create these... I guess I could write a webpage to make them for people...

You can type smiles - the old fashioned way - if you type colon parenthesis it'll interpret it as a smile - B ) is sun glasses...

In Mspaint you can do "Save As" - just pick jpeg there. MSpaint isn't particularily good at resizing pictures as you can only do it by percent - we talked about that on the old board...

    :) =) B) :( :-/

    Woot.

My title? Oh I was ~170 posts... I got 4 bars - I wonder if there was a fifth bar to get?

OH - to see the smiles bit - click "Post Reply" instead of typing in the text box and hitting submit below the posts - then you see the smiles on the left hand side like the old board... or just do what I do and type the old fashioned way.. check this out: http://www.afana.com/bbshelp2.shtml

I'd like community input on the ranking names. See this post http://www.xjbikes.com/forums/index.php?threads/89 and put in detailed suggestions.

The profile picture (aka Avatar) must be 90x90 pixels or less.

Another option is to upload an Avatar directly from your PC. To do this you login and go to your Account profile. Where it says "Upload Avatar from your machine:", click on Browse and find the picture on your PC. then hit Save Changes button. Once uploaded you should be able to see it instantly.
