My wife went into the DMV and got her endorsement this morning. We went for our very first ride together tonight after work on our XJs. It was awesome! (For me anyways :D . She, being a new rider, was a little... well, petrified.) We're fortunate in that all we have to do is hang a left at the end of our driveway for one of the better places to ride in Snohomish County, Washington. You see, we live right on the Mountain Loop Highway, a scenic byway. Here are a couple pictures I snapped for a post to my blog a little while back of a previous trip up the Loop...

There's a few more pics, but you'll have to visit my blog to see 'em.

But that's not why I'm posting today. You see, we were out till right after dusk. I don't know about your neck of the woods, but around her dusk is when all the bugs take flight. If you're a bat nut, you can't miss them at dusk feeding on all the bugs. On the trip back home we literally got splattered with bugs. I wanted to share a picture of our helmets.

Click on the image for a close-up of our visors. It was amazing! ...and fun!

spray a little Pledge (yes, the furniture polish) on there and everything wipes right off. It also polishes the helmet. Works wonders.

    Nice pics too btw.

    Pledge... yes wonderfull stuff

I some times have to pull out washingmachines to repair them. Now if the machine is on lino. tiles or hardwood flooring. Spry a little Pledge on the floor where the feet are and she just slips out from under that unit. No ripped lino or scuff marks on the hardwood 8)

I used to have an hour and a half commute (one way) around 9-10pm -- my helmet looked like that pretty much every night, hahaha.

I was riding with a friend last summer in northern ontario and by the end of the day our bikes looked like the front of them had carpet on them. Were talking not a couple of spots but as if the bikes had texture.

I hit something that i assume was a june bug and it broke open my knuckle, and left a 4" splatter on my friend behind me. Im very thankful for my windshield.

Never thought i would be able to get all thoes bugs off, but 150km in heavy rain did the trick.

Looks like a great ride. 10 years ago when I started, I would wear my leather jacket, but take off my shirt to enjoy the venting and took a few more bugs on my neck and chest than I wanted too. Now, I am always wearing a shirt. Later with a wasp I learned to keep the shirt untucked, but that's too long a story for here.
