in the manual it sais it takes 0.20 litres = 0.42/0.35 us lmp pints wich equals to my understanding 200mils wich isnt very much considering the size of it

That is correct. Most of the internal volume is taken up by the gears and bearings. The final drive is full when the gear oil is even with the lower edge of the fill hole.

Just drain it. Gear oil does not jel like brake fluid does, and it does not (in this application) form sludge.

That looks to me like a spring and seal from someone's automatic transmission. It's not from your final drive.

Is there evidence of a leak? When I did mine, there were no washers at the plugs and as I understand, there should be. I got a 5 pack from chacal. I also felt like less came than the amount I put back in. It was a good feeling to finally do the fluids (including front fork oil & seals... Major leak here...), give the bike a good scrubbing with soap and water and find a dry engine that stays dry. No more spots on the garage floor either.

You won't see the whole volume of gear oil drain out. The stuff clings to the gears and housing really well.
