Hello fellas plz i hope somebody knows an xj beeter than i do but i duno. I can hope cant i. I got an 81 xj 650 and a 750. The 650 has a fatter rear wheel so im thinkin switch em. I run accross a 3rd bike a 91maxim wt the entire rear swing arm , drive shaft and every musurment i can figure to take on the back wheel seems to me to be the same yet im kicked off center. Ive took it off and put it bach on several times and can find no reason its off center. Any suggestions fellas ?

    Hi,
    Sounds funky!
Is the drive collar exactly the same and/or is the spacer in the drive shaft different?
All I can think of without checking parts diagrams.

What's the third bike again? There was no 91 maxim.

Im sorry. The third where the new wheel came from is a 91 valero or soething like that. And somethink is funky cuz its like the shaft dont wana go all the way threw. The treads barely come out the other side and the pinch bolt is hitting the exaust when i did clear it... it seems it needs to go in as far as the wheel needs to go over

Could it have been from a Virago?

Based on your description you aren't likely going to make that wheel fit without making spacers, or possibly machining the wheel.

You might want to follow this, because I suspect that you have a Virago 535 wheel.
Mr. Brown to the rescue!! The 535s have arrived!

Yes your correct it is from a 91 virago but from everything ive seen the swing arm and drive shaft to the final drive and the wheel itself are identical even tho the rest of the bike is far differant from my 81 xj650 maxim
