Just bought a real nice 81 550 that hasn't ran in 13 years. I had my buddy go through the whole thing and all I need is the 4 rubber intake boots and the fuse panel that's under the seat. He also suggested I switch it back to the original air box instead of the four individual filters. So if anyone has any of those items please let me know. Oh and sorry one more thing I really need is a muffler. The headers are all perfect except for the muffler it has a big hole in it.

I suggest ordering the fusebox replacement kit from Chacal. There's a good thread about that and it was very successful in my '81 XJ550R
Intake boots, sometime, you can find good used ones (as I did). Chacal also has good ones. Many aftermarket are crap (just search the forums and you'll find lots of stores from people).

AFAIK, the carbs are different diameter, and therefore spacing. I think you have to stick with the same size engine, but I'm sure there are exceptions to that!
I used 550 maxim boots on my 550 seca.

The engines, carbs, and airboxes are the same for the 550 maxim and 550 Seca, so the boots would be the same, too.

The bigger question is-- do you need the:
    Airbox-to-carb boots
    or the
    Carb-to-manifold boots

Yea, sorry. Click the link in the upper right. (xj4ever) and you'll find a comprehensive catalog as forum posts (a bit odd, but it works). then drop a note to "chacal" via your inbox and let him know what you need, he'll get back w/ quote and shipping options, then paypal and wait for your parts. He ships fast, so you won't wait long.
