    Matti,

    Um......
Single disc, shaft drive, 650 on the side cover--lol, 650 peg mounts, 650 seat, YICS, etc..... All point to 650 Maxim.

What's throwing you off is the 750 Maxim tank. Maybe the goofy front fender, too----and the obnoxious turnout mufflers.

    Excuse 1: no Maxim experience
Excuse 2: screen too small to read badges
Excuse 3: would have to own 40 bikes to recognize peg mounts
Excuse 4: can't see into bike to see yics. Side covers are interchangeable, right?
No excuse for overlooking single disc except I'm not a guru. Let's pretend I knew all along, but was utilizing Socratic method to provide info for the noobs. Yeah. Socrates.

Now someone should provide a link to Keanu calling him So-krates.

Ted: [whispering to Bill] Now what?

Bill: I dunno. Philosophize with him!

Ted: [clears his throat, to Socrates] "All we are is dust in the wind," dude.

[Socrates gives them a blank stare]

Bill: [scoops up a pile of dust from the basin before them and lets it run out of his hand] Dust.

    [he blows the remainder away]

    Bill: Wind.

    Ted: [points at Socrates] Dude.

    [Socrates gasps]

Matti, yes- side covers are interchangeable so the red YICS badges could be frauds, BUT--- the give-away is the valve cover. The YICS valve cover is COMPLETELY different than the non-YICS cover

So, none of the 650s had yics? And all the 750s had It? Hmmm. Learning every day.

Not sure how you came up with THAT---

    But:

    80-81 XJ650 maxim non-YICS
    82-83 XJ650 maxim YICS
    XJ750's YICS
    XJ550's YICS
    85-86 airheads/X YICS
    Xj900rk YICS
    XJ750rl YICS
    etc......

Sorry, I got confused. Again. All I wanted to know was if it was a 650 or 750. You brought up the yics. And the shaft, which I politely ignored.

I guess I'm no Socrates .lol

    2 strikes against:
1 Rusted 4 to 1 exhaust, so also missing center stand, and
    2 it's not a Seca
I don't have the space to warehouse multiple bikes, so I have to be careful of my choices. I'd love a silver 650 Seca, but not so common!
