So since its gotten cold I have had this problem that when I first start riding thier is this AWFUL sqeak from my front end. The colder it is the louder it is and the longer it takes to go away. It sounds like plastic sqeaking or something. Anyone have any ideas? On a warm day (like above 55ish) its fine but once it drops colder then that its pretty loud. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks!

My first guess is the speedo gear inside the speedo. If so it should increase with speed and stop when the bike is stopped.

Put the bike up on the center stand first thing in the AM (a cold one for sure), have someone help, or rig something so the front is off the ground and spin the wheel. You wont be directly behind the line of axel and speedo. You will able to pinpoint the origination.
I used a 2X4 across the header pipes and a floor jack for just enough pressure to keep the bike tilted onto the rear tire when I was attempting to seat the bead.

(assuming that the squeek doesnt just go silent with the front wheel off the ground)

As for the speedo suggestion; My 1978 Porsche 924 had a cold squeeky speedometer that was cured wiht a few dabs of graffite powder.

Well i tipped it up and it seems to be coming from the brakes. It doesnt make noise when stopping only intermitinly while im riding so I think maybe the piston on the caliper is getting caught half way closed or something. I started to take it apart to give it a good cleaning and rebuild but I am stuck on the piston. It doesnt want to come out. It does come out doesnt? The pads actually have a good bit of meat on them so I think the problem is the piston. Any thoughts anyone?
