Can someone tell me the compression numbers on a 1986 Yamaha Maxim 700S?

    I know that on a 1986 Maxim XJ700XS it is 150 psi and a 11/2 to 1 ratio?

    Thanks

Where did the 300 RPM come from in 156 PSI @ 300 RPM?

When/if yu run a compresstion test for any reason, remove all the spark plugs and be sure the throttle os open fully. Your motor should spin at or even above 300RMP on the starter motor with a strong battery. If you cant get near 300RPM, you have other issues to work on.
A very well sealed motor will net 156psi, while a 25yo 15K miles motro could be a bit lower.
Of course if the motor has an issue, one or more cylinders could be extreamly low, around 100psi or even less.
