    Be safe out there everyone!
I've had an uneventful, great riding season until today. Sorry it's been so long since I've been to the forum.
Anyway, I just got backed into at a stop sign! The lady in the SUV in front of me said 'she didn't see me' before she put her vehicle in reverse and started backing up to give a school bus turning left a little more room. Luckily for me and my poor XJ, the bus driver and I got her attention before she backed up any further, and her plastic bumper rode up over the front tire instead of pushing me backwards and off the bike, where she might have run over us both. Also luckily I think my bike can be fixed, and she has insurance that will hopefully pay for the damages.
Be careful fellow riders, always expect the unexpected with cagers, I never would have thought something like this would happen. I told her that the 'I didn't see you' excuse is what gets us bikers killed, and to please be more aware of us from now on! Hopefully this one learned her lesson. Thank God for looking out for me today!

Thought I'd left myself plenty of room between or vehicles, as soon as I saw the reverse lights she'd punched the gas and hit me before I could react.
I didn't move the bike in case she tried to say that I was all up on her bumper or something..

Same thing happened to my father in law many years ago, lady was drunk. Thumb hovers over horn button at stop signs and lights
And it looks like the forks are twisted!

Sorry that happened to your father in law! I think this lady might have been on her cell phone..
And I feel stupid for forgetting to lay on the horn.. It's LOUD! lol but then again I didn't have much time to react at all, unfortunately..

At least the one entire fork assembly is toast, the fender attachment bolt got sheared off in the lower fork tube, inner tube is bent. Fender is obviously toast too lol. Can't really tell about anything else without disassembly.

The lady's insurance company said they'd send out an adjuster. I told her that unless he's a motorcycle expert that I'm not comfortable with that, a motorcycle mechanic needs to inspect everything.

I'm also worried the insurance company will try to say that my XJ is only worth $600 or something and try to total it out. :(

It's a Lindby Linbar for a Harley! Lol a local shop had one for $100 :D

Don't know how or why but the top mount bolt for that got broken off, too..

I'm going to send you a message, I have a couple questions for you.

Luckily I didn't get hurt at all, her car went up and over the front tire so it didn't actually move the bike at all, or knock it over, or knock me off or anything. Motor was still running, turn signal still blinking, lol rode her up onto the trailer to tow her home
