I swear every time I clean something on this thing it stops working! When I first got it changed the oil stopped working, which led to a whole list of fix its (carbs, alt brushes, starter, battery etc.). FINALLY had it running good, so I gave it a wash yesterday. Now I can't get it to start without a little chemtool in the spark plug ports. Even then it's really rough and if I ease up on the throttle it dies. :? I'm hoping it's just wet somewhere and it'll dry out by tomorrow. Oh well at least it's purty now.

Just look at the base of the Plugs. If the drain ports of the Head are rough or clogged ... you might see some dampness around the base of the Spark Plugs where they screw into the head.

Paper towel stuff the canyon around the plugs and dry-up the moisture.
Look to see that your Plug wires aren't braided. Make sure they are a straight run to the hole without crossing a Ground or some wire or cable that would Ground it.

    Here I go again.

When I wash my bike, I used to have this trouble too...........

I now dry my bike with my leaf blower, kinda like riding 100 mph to dry it off.
Sure is a nice touchless dry.
I used to hate sitting for................ever drying the nooks and crannies.

    Now I BLOW it DRY!

Sure I could use compressed air from my big compressor but the volume and speed of air from the blower is MUCH better..

    TRY IT YOU'LL LIKE IT!

Well, finaaly got everything back in order. It only took 2 days to dry all the way out!!! So anyhow, I am seriously not going to use water to wash the bike anymore. I'm going to use a waterless car wash that works great! Yes that's right waterless carwash. If anybodiy is interested I can tell ya where to get some.
Later I'm off for a spin!

Why don't you correct the electrical problem? Someday you'll get caught in the rain and be glad you did.

For a while I had to push or jump start my bike whenever I washed it. I replaced the battery recently, but come to think of it, I havent washed it since then. We'll see......

A shot of Ignition Wire Spray under there ... just might be the ticket!
