I have a 1983 XJ750 MK thats the maxim not the seca, and I am going on a very long trip with my bike (12,000-15,000 miles at least), I would like to purchase the oil cooler, lines, insert for the oil filter, and longer filter bolt.

I have a complete used factory cooler off a 650 Turbo.......lines, clamps, hoses, cooler, adapter plate, outer cover, by-pass valve-bolt, etc.

Missing the adapter plate mounting bolt (to the block) but I should have that piece reproduced in the near future.

I also offer the spin-on oil filter adapter kit that would replace the outer cover and bypass valve/bolt unit and replaces the paper filter unit with a mini spin-on can oil filter. This system will work on bikes with or without the factory oil cooler (works on factory cooler systems AS LONG AS you have the bottom adapter plate). Very cool and very functional. No clearance problems with the exhaust header pipes, cleans better and simplifies oil changes greatly.

Note: my experience with retro-fitting factory oil coolers to XJ models not originally equipped with one is that you will have to fabricate some upper and/or lower mounting brackets or tabs to properly mount the factory cooler to the bike, but it's a minor task. You may also have to re-route some of the headlight wiring harness.

    Write me if interested, thanks.

You can still get the mounting bolt through Yamaha. I got one last year for my 750. Unless they have discontinued them since then. My cooler is now installed on my xj700. Works great and worth every penny. I had my adapter plate shipped in from a individual in England and pieced the rest together.
