    image.jpeg

    1982 xj650rj tail cowl (silver,but not clear-coated) - 1

So if I have a 650 Maxim frame with title for you then you could make a bike from spare bits in no time:)

    Some more--

550 Maxim exhaust--Complete or will part out.......

Pipes are decent, not perfect though; collector is very good, a small ding on one side shield; mufflers are nice, a small ding on the left muffler, but nice and shiny

    image.jpeg

Generic fender that was on an xjj650 maxim - very good condition
    image.jpeg

Let me know what else you might need---

By any chance, Would that 550 exhaust fit an "82" xj650 seca with a stock engine, frame and footpeg brackets.
And, Do you know whether an xj 750 maxim tank can be mounted on an "82" xj650 seca frame and be compatable
with the stock seca seat ?

Ok, here's some updated tank swap info---- I'll start trying to pull everything together into a new forum devoted just to this topic. Anyway, Joe, you asked about the Maxim tank, but then private mailed about the 750r tank instead--so.....here's how a 750r tank looks on the 650rj.

It looks surprisingly decent.......if the color were to match, it would look almost like it was intended. This is just a test for fitment, though.
It is a good fit, as I reported earlier, but here it is with the 650rj seat installed, too. The ONLY issues:

    1. The side cover mounting hole bushings must be good and in place to keep the side cover down far enough

    2. The 650rj rear tank mount rubber must be used to keep te 750rj tank high enough so it does not ride on the side cover mounting tabs

    3. The rear tank mount hole is juuuust a hair back from the center post, so you have to really work the rubber into the hole before putting the top mount pieces and the bolt in. A little warming with a heat gun, and some vasoline help the rubber to slide in. Some CAREFUL light prying forward will help to get the rubber in, as it is a snug fit.

    4. The Sidecovers mount holes that are in the rear corners of the tank ARE visible. BUT some 'creative' decoration or camouflage. Will make them very unobtrusive.

Here's two pics of a 750rj tank on an '82 xj650rj non-turbo, with the original seat INSTALLED...not just sitting there. (In process of redoing the cover)
    image.jpeg

    image.jpeg

I did not have time to drop the Maxim tank on...... Will do that later

Xj750 Maxim tank on an xj650rj...... It physically fits, but the gap between the tank and the seat is awful

Oh Great and Mighty Hoggfiddles, xj wizard, host of central NY carb clinic, owner of tank swap guinea pigs! Will 650r tank fit on 750 r? Will Maxim tank fit on 700/750x? 400 on a 900? Will a lawnmower tank fit a chainsaw? When you set up THE ULTIMATE TANK SWAP THREAD, all will await your answers!!!

650r on 750r - if you swap the 650r triple tree onto the 750r, the tank will fit. BUT in doing so,I think you will be putting a weaker suspension on, and other fender/wheel/brake issues will be present, too

Maxim tank on 700/X - which years? The 85/86 maxim tank IS the tank

    400 on 900 - totally different

Lawnmower tank on chainsaw - yes

You caught me. Only one of my questions was serious, the rest were an attempt at comedy through hyperbole, but now I am eyeballing the chainsaw!
