Howdy once again, I wasn't planning on making this thread but apparently I haven't gotten off so easy. I had gotten the bike started about a week ago and it hasn't been overly cold (roundabout 55 degrees) and the bike just doesn't want to start. I have drained the float bowls but other than that the only thing I've changed is the first sync screw by a full turn. I doubt this would be restricting it from starting. The electrics all work I've checked everything twice, spark is good, but I am noticing a slight issue with the killswitch. When I switch it to kill and switch it back to run the start button does nothing other than dim the headlight. If I ever so gently push it back up but not all the way and let it fall back down to run the starter will work. Nevertheless it still doesn't want to cooperate. Other than spraying starter fluid in there I've done everything. My mentality is if it ran a week ago it should run today.

    Thanks again,

    Medici

generic advice as I do not know the bike you are talking about . put in title or add as your signiture
    red/white wire
fix or bypass the kill switch it supplies the volts from the ignition fuse into starter relay to coils, tci, (it does not run the relay) and to the solenoid.

could be bad contacts in the starter safety relay check volts in and out

why did you turn the 1st sync screw?

Why did you turn the sync screw be a full turn? If the bike won't start you cant use a manometer, and without a manometer you can't perform a running synch. Did you maybe adjust the idle mixture screw instead?

After you drained your bowls, did you put the petcock on Prime to refill the bowls?

I had noticed a slight difference in airflow from a vacuum gauge I used when cranking the bike so I attempted to adjust it to match cyl 3. It has since been put back to where it once was.

Yes I did. Only thing I can think of is some starter fluid because I know all of my plugs are getting spark and I'm pretty lost at this point.

Starter fluid can get you over that hump, but if you don't have proper enrichment, it won't keep running. Still, might help you get things running so you can get everything dialed in.

jump the wires to the kill/run switch to remove it as a possible problem.
bad connections can cause voltage drop or loss .
it is the wires the wire that brings power to solinoid then when you press the start button completes the circuit to ground to activate the solenoid

While you posted this I was at the hardware store and sure enough it fired right up! It stayed running and would start right back up after I left it for about 20 minutes so I suppose it was just a hump. My next problem is that it will rev up but will bog down and will rev again after a few seconds of dropping revs. I imagine I need to turn up the idle screw because it won't idle but will rev fine and sounds great. What's the next logical step?

    I'm thinking re-synch.
When you adjusted the screw between 1&2 to try to match 3 it threw the balance off.
Match 1 to 2, then match 3 to 4 and finish matching 1&2 to 3&4.

I was going to say bump idle to keep it running, then sync, then tweak idle again. Then mixture, then sync again (and idle 1 more time if it's off much).
