Hi everyone hopefully this ones easy. I have an 81 xj750 seca. It has a slight front end wobble at speed like 65 and up forks are rebuilt by me and steering head bearings are good. I'm thinking its some thing with the front wheel (new tire) my guess is a wheel bearing

    check tightness of headstock bearings

    is new tire balanced?

put bike on center stand strap rear of bike down, them see if you have any looseness in the front tire, wiggle you may have to remove calipers to do this.
remove front axle and turn the wheel bearings. see if there is any grind.
how many miles on the bike? 20k would be when you change the bearings.

    check the rear bearings too.

26,000 miles and the rear has a new bearing. Thanks wish I did this when I had the bike all apart doing the brakes.

Headstock bearing condition and preload is critical on the 750 Seca (really on any bike, but particularly on our specific model). If you have not had the bearings off for inspection then I suggest that you do so. I further suggest that you just upgrade to roller bearings. Even with all the other bearings in good condition, tires balanced, tires at the correct air pressure forks and shocks in good working order, and the suspension set up properly there is a propensity for headshake if the headstock bearings are at all loose, or the races notched.
