well, at least I think so. The engine sounds fine but I feel power being lost on acceleration. It seems to only happen when its cold and the bike is cold, in warm weather and after the bike warms up (probable the oil warming up) it doesnt do it. Is this a slipping clutch? If so since its not bad could I get away with riding it till the cold weather sets in and I park it for the winter and do the work then, or will riding it make things worse and damage something else?

It could be a mis-adjusted clutch or sticking cable or weak clutch springs but you may just need to change the oil.
It won't hurt anything if you can live with it but I would try adjusting it and lube the cable then different kinds of oil, regular if you have been using synthetic and so on. If that doesn't help then new springs are probably in order.

I just changed the oil yestarday from synthetic to regular motorcycle oil but before that I put cheap oil in it and some seafoam to clean out the synthetic since A friend told me synthetic isnt good for a wetclutch. I will try lubing the cable next. As far as a mis adjusted clutch how do I check the adjustment?

Synthetic vs dino has nothing to do with it. As has been stated many times before in many other threads (search for it!), the problem has to do with whether the oil has friction modifiers in it; apparently that is what's bad for a wet clutch.

If you look on the back of the bottle, there should be a little circle logo somewhere. If it has the words "energy conserving" on it, it has the friction modifiers, and should be avoided.
