I am having problems with my spark plug wires in my coil. I can hear coil arching at the coil and wire. It is arching inside the rubber boot and I can not see it. I can hear the bike misfire when I hear the ticking. I have the wire shoved as far as it will go. I have new wires coming and wondered if you guys have any suggestions.

I believe my dyna coils are the ones that slide in. I do not see threads anywhere. thanks

the wires on my dyna coils just push in. do you have some kind of cap on the end and are the wires the right diameter for the coils?
i use Accel copper 7mm wires, boots and caps. fit like a glove

I have the 7mm wires from dyna. They come with rubber boots that fit tight over plug wire and the connector. It is arcing internally.

You hear it arcing internally? I am just trying to wrap my brain around this one. I know you are hearing something but what makes you think it if from the internal arc?

Unless the wires are broken or have a partial open, not too sure how you could hear it? Check them with a multi meter and put a little tension on the wire, if there is a break or partial open that might help find it.

Have you run her in a dark area/room to look for the arc? I know it might sound funny but it would be what I would do if I herd a arc noise.

I mean it is arcing under the ruber boot that is on there. I cant see anything in a dark room. I would wingle the plug wire around near the coil and the ticking would stop and it would quit misfiring. Hope this helps

Yes it did help thanks. I would guess that someone can help you out with this. I could guess you could put some lube of some type on the wire to get them to slip in the coils a little better. There should be some way to get those wires in there better and then have those boots fit better on there to secure the wire.

Good luck with this, should be a easy fix once you find the secret.

how much of the conductor is exposed past the insulation ? there should be about 3/8 inch folded back over the insulation, then pushed in
