I have a 1982 XJ750J and the flashers don't flash. Last year I replaced the front flashers because the ones a previous owner installed were not the correct parts and the flashers stayed on.

However, the flashers still stay on. Should I go to the flasher relay next?

check and clean relay make sure it is the oem relay
make sure your bulbs are 27 watts

when you say flashers stay on do you mean constant light no flash?

also you may want to remove the control clean and lube it .
use electrical cleaner silicone spray and dielectric grease

Thank you. The bulbs stay on constantly.

I'll address each of the issues you have mentioned.

Not too sure how the front light ground on that bike? If you run a wire from a know good ground to the metal portion of the light fixture and it start to blink, then check the ground. Just did that on my CX500 front blinkers. Stayed on but would not flash....hope that helps.
