I bought a Maxim xj750 back during the winter. When I bought her, she ran just fine. I took her out for the season and when I try to start her, she'll start to turn over then just starts clicking. The battery has a full charge and there is no corrosion build up on the starter or battery. Could I just have to replace the whole starter solenoid?

Have you checked the voltage drop when trying to start the bike? It may be that the batter is starting to go.

Did you have battery on a "Tender" over the winter?

I sometimes have an issue with the starter relay. I just give it a wack and the starter spins up nice. Will need to change it one day.
However if you give it a solid tap and your starter spins up then you have a good idea where to start looking.

try cleaning the starter button in the control. open it up and spray electric cleaner on it and lube with a little dielectric grease to prevent corrosion.

Maine. I just picked up a couple of XJ750Maxims from Maine over the last 6 weeks

Took mine apart and am currently working on cleaning. Was gonna try to post a link here to some pics of it but it won't let me. If you search for ElliotShane82 on imgur, I've got photos of the starter button taken apart for cleaning so you can see what I'm working with.
