The clutch on my bike feels a Little bit hard to work with,, (XJ900-83) If i convert it to a oil assisted one , does that make any difference ? Something like this :

Have you lubricated your existing cable lately?

cars have been doing this for years.
lube the cable and if that does not do anything for you go for it. let us know how it works out
    46 "vs 47.24"
    1168mm vs 1200mm

The only hydraulic clutch convrsion that will workk on your 900 is made by Magura (and requires some fiddling). Once you see the cost of it you'll go lube your clutch cable and be happy. You should also just replace the cable if it's the same one that was on the bike when you got it.

If there is still. substantial resistance something else may be going on. If you are unsure of the age of the cable, replace it (as Kmoe suggested), it could be frayed inside the sheathing, just waiting to snap at the worse possible moment.

Good video here > though it's for an XS1100 the principle is the same.
Not such a good idea according to the maker of the vid.

that guy in the video didn't know anything about how hydraulics work. he chose the master because it would look pretty, the one with the kit may work great.
notice in the video how the clutch arm moves up to the right then rotates, that's not right

There is no problem with the Cable : runs/feels nice when disconnected. I have run the bike about 187 miles now and the clutch does not bother me at all :)

So you put lube on the cable when you had it off and that fixed it? Or you are just getting used to the pull of the cable and are happy with it. Same tension as before or lighter pull?

I am having he same issues with mine and have not lubed the cable yet...will soon though so just wondering.

The clutch pull is what I would call medium. If you're ever ridden a 90's or earlier Harley-Davidson, those have a heavy clutch pull.

Cable cleaning and lubrication is supposed to be done annually. Guess how often that acutally happens.
    Lube the cable.

When I rebuilt my clutch I used HD Barnett springs and yes the clutch pull is heavier now but no slippage. Get a tennis ball and exercise your left hand :)
