    Hi guys.

Just recently I bought myself yet another bike, this time a 1987 Yamaha XJ 600. My beloved wife asked me why I need another, and I'd simply answered 'bikes are like kittens, someone has to take care of them'.
I've named the bike Birgitta. Why? She told me so... ;)

Was Birgitta a bargin? Well, I use to think WUPIWYG, meaning What You Pay Is What You Get. 3.000 Swedish kronor - about 320 US dollar - will buy you... a challange. She's up 'n running, perfectly street legal. But she's not running perfectly, so to say.

First I have to do something about her exhaust system, so after driving her for a couple shorter test rides I placed her i my garage and dismantled the complete system. There's two problems; one of the threads are damaged and one of the bolts has snaped of. Furhermore the collector for the 4-2 system is nasty rotten. So, along with replace the damaged fuse box, changing brake lines and pads and of course the ordinary periodically service I have a few things to address... After that I'll put the farings back to originale shape.

I've bought myself an Haynes Yamaha XJ 600 repair handbook, and I've signed up here. What more do I need? :D

    Wish me luck...

Glad you joined the forum. Need is such a strange word. There are many things I "need" but are really just wants. Grin.
