Safe system?

    Should my XJ900 -83 have a system to prevent to drive away , with the sidestand lowered.
    Or is the bike simply to old for that kind of technique?
    I tried to do this and I could drive away,,,,

    Someone bypassed the sidestand switch, or removed the relay.

    Yes, the 900 did have side stand safety relays.
