I just noticed this after removing the bowl covers. Am I able to use a small amount of JB weld to "fix" this or am I screwed?

Oh boy ah you could try . Make sure it is JB weld ...not JB quick it just not the same. Another product I have used with great success is liquid steel you cut off a bit kneed it and press it in to place sets up a few minutes abd can be shaped and sanded after it sets up. You can get it at Autozone or Wallyworld . Or get another carb body .

That spot is not a machined mating suface. Only there to hold gasket from sliding out. As long as gasket is lined up when you tighten the bowl it won't matter.

I agree, but I would probably try the job weld if it were mine just for looks. Be careful not to get it on the machined surface.

Thanks a lot, I was hoping I could throw some JB Weld on it since the gasket does most of the work. That is the only spot I noticed was dinged up and really didn't want to purchase another carb because of it.
